126. Ways you Can Recover from Burnout

Hello and welcome to my podcast, The Wellness Project with Des. On today’s podcast episode, I speak with Mallory Kiersten about how she recovered from burnout.

I’m Desiree, a Mental Health Therapist that is passionate about helping people improve their mental health and live a healthy and fulfilled life. One way I do this is by interviewing experts in the field of mental health and wellness as well as those that have struggled with their mental health but have gained control over it and now live fulfilling lives. In this podcast episode, we will hear from Mallory about her burnout and her path to recovery.

For years, Mallory was struggling with big emotions and a lack of healthy ways to cope. She was exhausted and burned out. She explains that she wasn’t interested in anything anymore and she didn’t want to do anything. All she wanted to do was be in bed.

Mallory explains that she didnt know what trauma was or how it was showing up in her body and how it was affecting her in her daily life.

Growing up, Mallory was involved with a lot in high school and she burned out. She wanted to take a year off in between high school and college but her mother would not allow her to. She needed to rest, a deep connection with herself, and to understand what she really wanted out of her life.

As an adult, Mallory states that she had reached her goals and checked all the boxes. She was successful but realized she wasnt happy and fulfilled like she thought she would be.

After a suicide attempt, Mallory began her mental health and healing journey.

Exhaustion and burnout are so common.

Listen to Mallory’s story to learn ways to cope with big emotions and to recognize and recover from burnout.
