Hello and welcome to my podcast, The Wellness Project with Des. On today’s podcast episode, I speak with Ben Ciesinski about how he’s learned to manage his anxiety.
I’m Desiree, a Mental Health Therapist and Holistic Wellness Coach that is passionate about helping people improve their mental health and live a healthy and fulfilled life. One way I do this is by interviewing experts in the field of mental health and wellness as well as those that share their first hand accounts with their mental health journeys. In this podcast episode, we will hear from Ben about his lifelong struggle with anxiety and how he’s learned to manage it.
Ben Ciesinski is a Health and wellness Coach and personal trainer. He’s struggled with anxiety through most of his life. Sadly, his mother died of a heart attack in 2021 and his father had heart issues. He decided to see a cardiologist to get tests done on his heart and discovered that he has heart disease. On top of his medical issues and a very stressful job, he internalized that stress which showed up as physical symptoms and various illnesses.
Due to an extremely stressful job, Ben realized he was internalizing unrealistic expectations set by his supervisor that he was never able to meet. His job responsibilities were never ending and he explains that he took things at his job very personally. Ben explains that during covid, his job situation got worse as there were no work-life boundaries when he was working from home.
In this conversation, Ben describes the anxiety symptoms he was experiencing and how he began to realize that what he was experiencing was actually. Ben describes anxiety as a spectrum and he shares what helps him to manage his anxiety effectively.
If you have struggled with anxiety then I know this conversation will be helpful and valuable for you.
